Absim
Absim is a highly configurable TCP/IP server simulator. It was written to simulate a variety of Modbus devices for which we had
to develop drivers but was written in such a way as to be useful for any client TCP/IP comms.
Absim is written in C++/MFC, should run on Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP/Vista and is currently provided free of charge. If you
find Absim useful and especially if you manage to configure up a new comms protocol, we'd be pleased to hear about it.
Download
Latest version: v1.0r15
No installer as yet. The zip file contains the Absim executable and data files.
Just unzip to a new folder and run absim.exe.
Configuration
Configuration files are included for a subset of Modbus TCP
and Serial Modbus (For use with RS232/Ethernet converters/
Terminal Servers) There are example files for a couple of Daniel
Chomatograph controllers, the 2350 and the model 700. There's also a PLC
file which was used to simulate a Direct Logic (Koyo) PLC.
The configuration files are written in an XML like syntax. Any file with an .xml
type in the absim folder will be available for use as simulation (apart from
absim.xml which is used to hold local settings for absim itself). Configuration
files can reference other files using the 'include' directive, allowing message
libraries to be built up.
